Programs are designed for middle, junior high and senior high students. The programs are utilized as resources when participating in Adventures in Leadership. You can do this as an individual, chapter group or in Family and Consumer Science Education.
The programs support the mission of FCCLA. The mission is to Promote personal growth and leadership development through family and consumer science education. Focusing on the multiple roles of family member, wage earner and community leader, members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, interpersonal communications, practical knowledge, career and technical preparation.

STAR Events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) National and State Program
STAR Events are competitive events that build proficiency and achievement in leadership and job-related skills.

Student Body (National and State Program)
Get involved by developing and carrying out projects related to fitness, nutrition and self-awareness. Engage in peer education and develop skills in improving your lifestyle.
Mentoring (Minnesota Program)
Learn about yourself by building a relationship with another person and developing your interpersonal skills. The mentoring program encourages chapters and individuals to develop mentoring relationships with kids, elderly, peers, and professionals.
Step One-Step One is a experience for new and beginning members of FCCLA.

Take an issue you care about and DO SOMETHING! A challenge to take an in-depth look at leadership and be rewarded for your accomplishments. To complete this process you need to plan, learn about leadership, do an action project, reflect, convey what you have learned and demonstrate new skills.

Learn the concepts and skills necessary for a strong family life, and gain leadership skills by sharing these concepts with other members. Five areas are:

Manage your money wisely through Financial Fitness. Five areas of learning are:

Strengthen your leadership skills on the job. The program recognizes your career goals, encourages you develop leadership and promotes Family and Consumer Science careers. The six career areas are:

Community Leader
Community Service - National and State Program
The FCCLA Community Service Program guides members to develop, plan, carry out and evaluate projects that improve the quality of life in communities.
  
FACTS (Families Acting for Community Traffic Safety) - National and State Program
Improve traffic safety in your communities by reducing impaired driving and increasing seatbelt usage through a community service project.
 
Japanese Exchange Program (National and State Program)
FCCLA members can win a scholarship to spend six weeks in Japan with a Japanese family. It is a great opportunity to learn about another culture and family life in Japan.
Stop the Violence/Make the Peace- National and Minnesota Program
STOP the Violence is a peer-to-peer outreach initiative. Be empowered to recognize, report and reduce the potential for youth violence. The program works with the National Family, Career and Community Leaders of America program STOP the Violence—Students Taking On Prevention; and Minnesota Department of Education violence prevention program Make the Peace.
